Ensuring maximum possible expertise
and competitiveness

I have been running Nebbiolo Consulting since 2015. The company focuses on talent management (TM) and strategic competency management as a cog in corporate competitiveness. It is, perhaps, the most important cog.

My extensive experience of active TM work comes from many years in the Japanese automobile industry. Amongst my roles were HR manager of Honda’s Nordic/Baltic organisation, Head of HR at Honda Motor Europe in London and, most recently, manager of sales support, product planning and marketing.

Talent management
Talent management centres on successfully creating and spotlighting development opportunities for all an organisation’s employees.

Although oriented towards entrepreneurship and competitiveness, the development environment is decidedly human. Knowledge, skills and a good attitude to learning and personal growth are promoted as the roads to expertise. Consequently, developing organisations are pervaded by great motivation and an openness to actively seeking out challenges.

The importance of management reaching consensus in defining talent, performance and potential has been amply demonstrated. This also applies to establishing an overall picture of the employee potential that can take the organisation to the next level (and perhaps even the one beyond that).

These consensus issues throw a spotlight on “leadership within an organisation”, the implementation of necessary initiatives and the taking of action to continuously ensure a good level of expertise in key roles (managerial and otherwise).

In a nutshell, it is essential to have strategies that provide a basis for all employees to be thoroughly positive towards developing within the enterprise and feeling: “This is a company I want to grow in.”

Independent consultant
Achieving the above demands a great deal of painstaking preparatory work. Work where an independent consultant often finds it easier to see and discover roads to results.

With a focus on management, leadership and organisational development, Nebbiolo Consulting offers operations-oriented consultancy services in the area of competency management.

Goals and visions
It is well worth bearing in mind that there is still no organisation that reaches 100% of all its TM goals. Nonetheless, goal-oriented work covering a majority of set goals (while also continuously improving expertise, methodologies and processes) will sharpen any company’s present and future competitiveness.
